Terms and Conditions

  • Benefits relating to the membership scheme shall apply to the member's nominated immediate family members who reside at the same address as the member (up to a maximum of four persons, including the member), and any additional members residing at the same address who have been nominated and paid for over and above the primary membership.
  • Membership benefits do not take effect until 30 days after full payment or first payment installment has been received, and any exception to this condition involving uptake of benefits prior to 30 days will be made at the sole discretion of ARHT.
  • Membership expires at one year to the date full payment or first payment installment has been received by ARHT.
  • Additional members to the primary membership will have the same expiry date as the primary membership, regardless of when they have been added.
  • A maximum of two transportations per calendar year for any one membership applies.
  • The ARHT operating region is from Te Hana in the North to Mercer in the South, and includes the CoromandelPeninsula and the Hauraki Gulf islands.
  • The ARHT membership scheme is open to New Zealand Citizens and permanent residents only.
  • Air Ambulance transportation will only apply if the member requesting transportation has suffered an accident or illness that results in them or their immediate family member being hospitalised within New Zealand and transportation to their desired destination is not provided by ACC or a DHB.
  • Air Ambulance transportation will be to an approved hospital facility nearest to their residence and within the ARHT operating region that is accessible by fixed wing aircraft.
  • Air Ambulance transportation will only be provided by ARHT where no other means of transportation is provided through the normal course of events by the health (DHB, ACC) system/s.
  • Air Ambulance transport may be provided either by ARHT or an alternative provider at the sole discretion of ARHT.
  • All transportation is subject to aircraft availability and weather restrictions. ARHT has sole discretion as to when and what transportation is used. All reasonable effort will be made by ARHT to provide the appropriate means of Air Ambulance transportation.
  • In order to qualify for the transportation benefit, the member of ARHT must be a fully paid financial member of the membership scheme (automatic payments or credit card payments qualify the member as a financial member). Air Ambulance transportation benefits do not take effect until a member has been a part of the membership programme for a one month period (30 calendar days).

Immediate family members are either: mother, father, brother, sister, wife, husband, partner (de-facto), son or daughter.
  • The suitability of a patient for transfer is at the sole discretion of the ARHT Medical Director whose decision is final; no correspondence will be entered into.
